Greetings from Australia.
At NBN Co we are considering adopting aspects of the FFMII for our interactions between our Workforce Management platform (the Manager) and our field workforce.
The WorkTypeSpecification concept is particularly useful for defining the structure of a WorkRequest and would allow both NBN Co and our construction partners to validate data and business rules.
From this perspective, we view the WorkTypeSpecification as a design artefact which “types” a WorkRequest. The FFMII seems to support this usage by allowing a WorkTypeSpecification reference to be provided in the WorkRequest.
Alternatively, a WorkTypeSpecification can be provided in the WorkRequest at run time.
We would like to avoid this if possible as we see the WorkTypeSpecification as more of a design artefact used to validate the WorkRequest i.e. stored in a repository.
Some information, however, only seems to be able to be supplied in the WorkTypeSpecification.
The ActivityLocationData, for example, can only be provided in the WorkTypeSpecification.
Would it make sense to also allow ActivityLocationData to be provided in the ActivityDataRecord in the WorkRequest?
Or allow for a DataBinding sequence in the ActivityDataRecord to allow for assignment of activity related data?
Kind Regards,
