Subject: RE: [humanmarkup-comment] Fwd: re: [xml-dev] Do We Need James Cla rkto get Good Recs?
It is a simple communications model. Fewer nodes with each node exhibiting higher competence. Higher competence means eliminating rabbit trails with the fewest number of messages; or, simpler, given a set of alternatives, selecting the correct choice fastest. Much gets lost in personality-centric philosophizing. It is sad but so: humans feel the need to belong so strongly, they will accept all kinds of evil if the group approves. Insecurity is the source of greed and the ruthless pursuit of power. len -----Original Message----- From: Rex Brooks [mailto:rexb@starbourne.com] I ran across this today and it caught my attention because two of the five or six genuine good-guys/authorities I pay attention to happen to be evident. David Megginson wrote it and it is about the uncannily successful and remarkably common-sensical contributions of James Clark.
