I'm co-chair of the OASIS Emergency Management Msseages and Notification Subcommittee, which connects to Healthcare through providing standards such as the Common Alerting Protocol for Alerts and Warnings which initiates delivery of first response emergency healthcare services. I am also active in the Web Services for Remote Portlets TC which substantially contributes to the development of information delivery via web services in a standardized way. As chair of the HumanMarkup TC I am helping direct the work of providing a 'clearinghouse' for standards relating to individual human information, which is specifically intended, as part of its work, to allow individual control of such information as medical history which can be made available via permissions an individual can give through such devices as bracelets with embedded microchips, or previous instructions left with their ISP or in a public repository/registry.
