Pfizer is consolidating its regulatory submissions using XML in operations spanning thirty "document management systems" and twenty-six countries. The U. S. Food and Drug Administration requires, effective October, that pharmaceutical companies are required to submit changes in product labeling in an XML format. They anticipate using Documentum and Arbortext software. They are also working on converting their existing Word Documents to XML.
