UBL update

As your LegalXML member section UBL representative, here is the status of UBL based on information from the symposium and their list-serve:

The UBL content team has decided to add seven new document types to the next UBL release (which will now be 2.0):

Catalogue 
Request for Quotation 
Quotation 
Rectification Advice 
Credit Note 
Debit Note 
Statement 

They will be changing the only two locally declared UBL element types, ID and Code, to global.  After this change, all element types in UBL will be global.

UBL 1.0 semantics are entirely unaffected by this change, but since it will necessitate a complete regeneration of the schema set, their naming and design rules require it be called "UBL 2.0."

They will also replace the UBL 1.0 CCTS schema modules with the versions recently published by UN/CEFACT ATG.

They are still on schedule for the next release.  They expect to make 2.0 available for the Oasis one-month public review in December 2005.
