OASIS eXtensible Access Control Markup Language TC will hold its next
face to face in Burlington, Mass, 11-12 Mar. The Policy Model SC will
hold its next teleconference 18 Mar, 4PM (EST)

OASIS XML Common Biometric Format (XCBF) TC will hold its first meeting
via teleconference on 18 Mar. The TC chair, Phil Griffin will be
speaking at the ITU-T Workshop on Security, Seoul, Republic of Korea,

Security"

CONSORTIUM ANNOUNCEMENTS
------------------------

On 7 March, OASIS announced the formation of the OASIS XML Common
Biometric Format (XCBF) Technical Committee to provide a standard XML
schema for biometrics. XCBF will describe information that verifies
identity based on human characteristics such as DNA, fingerprints, iris
scans, and hand geometry. XCBF will be used in biometric applications
that measure attendance, grant access control to documents or other
resources, and facilitate non-repudiation in commerce, particularly over
open networks.

OASIS issued a Call for Papers for a one-day ebXML conference on
Thursday, 23 May, in Barcelona, Spain, in conjunction with XML Europe
2002. The event is jointly organized by OASIS and UN/CEFACT. Proposals
for presentations should be submitted to ebxml-Barcelona@oasis-open.org
by 22 March 2002.
