Welcome to OASIS News, a weekly update of announcements, accomplishments
and activities for the XML interoperability consortium.

OASIS Holds Annual General Members Meeting, 4 March

Plan now to attend the OASIS Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Tuesday, 4
March in Santa Clara, California at the XML/Web Services One Conference.
The OASIS Board will review the Consortium's growth and accomplishments
from 2002. This year, members are asked to pre-submit questions,
concerns, or issues for the Board to address at the meeting. Suggestions
may be made whether or not you will be able to attend the AGM, and we
will post the QA compilation on the OASIS website following the event.

An OASIS reception will follow the AGM. Sponsorship opportunities are
available for corporate members who would like to host the reception.

XCBF 1.0 Approved as OASIS Committee Spec

The OASIS XML Common Biometric Format (XCBF) Technical Committee has
voted unanimously to approve its XCBF 1.0 document as an OASIS Committee
Specification. A 30-day public review period extends until 28 February.
This review period is
required prior to submitting the XCBF 1.0 specification to OASIS members
for consideration as an OASIS Open Standard.

UDDI v2 Approved as an OASIS Committee Spec

UDDI v2 has also been approved as an OASIS Committee Specification. Its
30-day public review period closes 3 March, after which time it may be
submitted to OASIS members for consideration as an OASIS Open Standard.

Editors of the Consortium Standards Bulletin selected OASIS as the
subject for the first edition of a new section of its
newsletter. The feature article focuses on ten years of OASIS
accomplishments and describes how our consortium stands out from other
standards-setting bodies.
