OASIS Board of Directors Nomination open

OASIS Members,

On behalf of the board and staff of OASIS, I am pleased to announce
the opening of the nomination period for the 2003 Board of Directors
elections.  We encourage all member organizations to consider making a
nomination to the Board of Directors so as to ensure their vision of
our future is reflected in the board.

The OASIS Board of Directors are top-level executives experienced in
managing growth and dedicated to advancing standards for
interoperability. By serving on the OASIS Board, directors exercise a
major impact on development and implementation of XML-based standards
and specifications. Recognized for their contributions by both the
technology and user communities, the directors guide OASIS in its
mission to drive the development, convergence and adoption of open
e-business standards.

The OASIS Board is comprised of eight directors, each serving two-year
terms. The terms are staggered annually to preserve management
continuity while providing the opportunity for flexibility in
consideration of the evolving scope and international focus of OASIS.

This year, the following directors' seats expire:

Jim Hughes, Hewlett Packard
Christopher Kurt, Microsoft Corporation
Simon Nicholson, Sun Microsystems
Michael Weiner, IBM

29 April Nominations open
27 May (23:59 hrs, 11:59pm US EDT) Nominations close
30 May Ballot opens
25 June (23:59 hrs, 11:59pm US EDT) Ballot closes
30-31 July Board Meeting, new Board seated at meeting in Billerica,
MA, USA

your nomination by the close of the nomination period on 27 May.
