OASIS News 23 June 2003 Welcome to OASIS News, a weekly update of announcements, accomplishments and activities for the XML interoperability consortium. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Vote for OASIS Board of Directors Before 25 June All Sponsor and Contributor member organizations are encouraged to cast a ballot for four Board candidates before 25 June 2003 (23:59, 11:59pm US EDT). Ballots have been sent to designated voting representatives listed at http://www.oasis-open.org/kmembers/person/roster/. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Be an "OASIS Open Standards Day" Sponsor OASIS is currently working with members to hold one or two day events called OASIS Open Standards Day. Recently, OASIS combined efforts with Integrated Forum on Electronic Commerce (ECIF) and National Computerization Agency (NCA) to produce 'OASIS Day in Korea 2003,' http://oasis.realseminar.co.kr/program.asp. It was very successful and we are seeking other local organizers for similar events. The format includes a keynote presentation by Mr. Patrick Gannon focused on OASIS Standards technical material pertinent to a region or industry. In turn, the local organizers invite regional presentations that describe implementation projects that are making use of OASIS specifications or approved standards. This could be done as a stand-alone event or scheduled in succession with another local event that would be complementary. If you need more information or would like to discuss this opportunity, contact dee.schur@oasis-open.org. --------------------------------------------------------------------- OASIS ebXML Registry TC Approves Specs The ebXML Registry Services Specification v2.5 and the ebXML Registry Information Model Specification v2.5 have both been approved as OASIS Committee Specifications. These documents can be viewed from the Registry TC Home Page under the Documents link. http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/documents.php --------------------------------------------------------------------- OASIS Entity Resolution Spec Public Review Period Begins The Entity Resolution TC has voted to advance their specification to Commmittee Specification status, and to begin a public review of the specification as the next step towards approval as an OASIS Standard. The review period began 18 June and closes end of day 18 July 2003.
