OASIS members,

As many of you may already know, Karl Best, vice president of OASIS, has
announced that Friday, 5 Nov, will be his last day as an employee of the
Consortium. 

Karl's association with our organization extends back to our early days,
when he was a member and later a director on the SGML Open Board. An OASIS
employee for more than four years, Karl has served as administrator of the
TC Process, represented the staff on the OASIS Technical Advisory Board, and
served as our liaison to other international organizations. His dedication
to providing a fair and balanced environment for our members has been well
respected by those with whom he has worked.

On behalf of myself and the rest of the OASIS Board and staff, I would like
to thank Karl for the many ways he has contributed to the success of our
organization and wish him the very best in his future endeavors.

have, and Jamie Clark, Mary McRae, or another OASIS staff member will assist
you.
