Nominations Close Soon for Special Board of Directors Election

With Colin Evans of Intel having resigned his position on the OASIS Board of
Directors, a Special Election will be held to complete his term, which
expires in July 2006. Candidate nominations from OASIS members will be
accepted until 21 Jan.

OASIS Standard Balloting for UDDI Specification Opens

The OASIS Universal Description, Discovery & Integration (UDDI) TC has
completed the public review period for the UDDI v3.0.2 specification and has
recommended its advancement for approval to become an OASIS Standard. The
familiarization period, which began 1 Jan, has ended, and a Call for Vote
has been sent to the voting representatives of each of the OASIS member
organizations.

The OASIS Extensible Access Control Markup Language (XACML) TC has completed
the public review period for the XACML 2.0 specification and has recommended
its advancement for approval to become an OASIS Standard. The

OASIS oBIX Committee Hosts Education Seminar at BuilConn 2005

The OASIS Open Building Exchange (oBIX) TC will host a one-day educational
seminar dedicated to the use of XML and Web services in buildings at
BuilConn 2005, the integrated and intelligent building community's event to
be held in Dallas, 21-24Mar. The seminar will feature updates on XML and Web
services-based standards targeted toward linking buildings and the
Enterprise. OASIS oBIX TC members will also provide information on initial
oBIX implementations, and discuss the possible applications of oBIX in
future buildings and facility systems.

TC Lightening Round to Be Held at the Annual General Meeting

This April, the OASIS Annual General Meeting will feature lightening round
updates given by each OASIS Committee regarding their status,
accomplishments, and future plans. This event promises to be an excellent
opportunity to educate other OASIS members on what the TCs are
accomplishing, discover the status of related work, appeal for input,
identify areas for cross-TC communication, and build support. All OASIS TCs
should designate one representative to deliver a two-minute presentation.
Slides will be compiled and posted on the OASIS website following the AGM.

OASIS Publishes Guidelines for Translating Standards

To enable communities around the world to more easily implement OASIS work,
the Consortium is seeking volunteers interested in providing or funding
unofficial translations of OASIS Standards and specifications. Translators
may work alone or together with others.
