OASIS News 26 August 2005 Welcome to OASIS News, a weekly update of announcements, accomplishments, and activities for the international standards consortium. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Consortium Issues Call for Participation in New OASIS Remote Control XML TC This week, the Consortium announced the formation of the OASIS Remote Control XML Technical Committee, which will develop a set of XML standards to support control of devices to be accessed and controlled remotely. The inaugural meeting will take place 16 Sept. http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/members/200508/msg00006.html ------------------------------------------------------------------------ TC Hosts ebXML Registry Webinar The OASIS ebXML Registry TC is holding an open webinar event to help developers userstand more about how ebXML Registry enables secure, federated information management within and across enterprises. The agenda will include an overview of ebXML Registry v3.0 key features, details on production implementations, and Q&A with members of the OASIS ebXML Registry TC. This event will be held on 15 Sept at two different times to accommodate ebXML interest from around the world. http://www.oasis-open.org/events/webinars/webinars.php ------------------------------------------------------------------------ OASIS WSDM TC to Provide Interoperability Demonstration The Enterprise Management World conference in Betheseda, Maryland, USA will feature a Web Services Distributed Management (WSDM) OASIS InterOp on 14 Sept. The special session will include an overview of WSDM as well as a multi-vendor demonstration that will illustrate the value and interoperability of WSDM 1.0. InterOp participants include IBM, HP, Tibco, Hitachi, and Datapower. http://www.emwusa.com/agenda.html ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Members Plan to Meet at OASIS Adoption Forum The OASIS e-Government TC is the latest of several Committees that have scheduled face-to-face meetings as part of the OASIS Adoption Forum, 17-18 Oct in London. The Adoption Forum will bring together OASIS members and the general public to explore advances in Web services, tax, business process, and localisation standards. This event provides an ideal opportunity for members to exchange ideas and to educate their co-workers, customers, and partners on OASIS work. Participants should note a change in venue to the Hilton London Metropole. An early bird rate is available to all who register before 9 Sept.
