TCs Submit XML Catalogs and CAP for Consideration as OASIS Standards

OASIS members are asked to review two new candidates for OASIS Standards. XML Catalogs v1.1, developed by the OASIS Entity
Resolution TC, provides an XML specification for mapping resource references to known resources. The Common Alert Protocol (CAP)
v1.1, submitted by the OASIS Emergency Management TC, enables information exchange to advance incident preparedness and response to
emergency situations. The familiarization period for both specifications ends 15 Sept, and a call for voting will be issued 16 Sept.

Organizations Collaborate on WSDM OASIS InterOp

Members of the OASIS Web Services Distributed Management (WSDM) TC will host the WSDM OASIS InterOp at the Enterprise Management
World Conference in Bethesda, MD, USA on 14 Sept. DataPower, IBM, HP, Hitachi, and TIBCO will demonstrate how the WSDM OASIS
Standard allows management applications to be built using Web services, permitting resources to be controlled by many managers
through a single interface. Employing a weather station scenario, the WSDM OASIS InterOp will demonstrate how management
applications can go beyond centralized monitoring in an agent-based environment to achieve truly distributed, collaborative
management in a world composed of both smart and simple resources.
