WSRP 2.0 becomes an OASIS Standard

Members have approved version 2.0 of Web Services for Remote Portlets (WSRP) as
an OASIS Standard. WSRP enables
an application designer to select from compliant remote content and application
providers and integrate them with just a few mouse clicks. Congratulations to
WSRP TC chair, Rich Thompson of IBM, and to all TC participants including
representatives of BEA, Microsoft, Novell, Oracle, SAP, Sun Microsystems,
TIBCO, and Vignette for this accomplishment.

Hotel deadline for Symposium is 11 April

Attendees of the Open Standards 2008: "Composability within SOA" symposium are
asked to reserve sleeping rooms at the Santa Clara Marriott by 11 April in
order to receive the group discount and complimentary high-speed internet
access. The Symposium is the largest annual gathering of OASIS members and
non-members, and everyone is strongly encouraged to attend. The event is
supported by the Open CSA Member Section and sponsored by SAP, Primeton,
Software AG, BEA, IBM, and Sun Microsystems.

eGov Workshop extends SOA symposium program

The OASIS eGov Member Section will host a free, one-day workshop on Thursday, 1
May, in Santa Clara, California, following the Open Standards 2008 symposium.
The workshop will feature a keynote from Joe Natoli of Intel on "Demystifying
SOA" and three panels, "Putting the Citizen First," "Serving the Citizen," and
"Enabling eGovernment".
Speakers include representatives from the governments of Belgium, Canada, Czech
Republic, and Italy. Symposium attendees are encouraged to stay over for this
free workshop, which will conclude with a plenary session outlining the work
program of the OASIS eGov Member Section.
