Introducing OASIS Open Repositories

We are pleased to introduce the OASIS Open Repositories, a new option for Technical Committees that want to encourage open source development in support of their standardization. As the world of technical collaboration and development evolves, we are pleased to provide open source development tools to our evolving and growing standards stakeholder community.

How it will work:

- Each OASIS Open Repository will be a public GitHub repository, created by OASIS staff, at the request of a TC.
(Initially, only TCs working under the Non-Assertion IPR Mode will have the option to create an Open Repository.)

- Anyone will be able to participate in an Open Repository, without fee or membership requirements.

- Open Repository contents will be created by public contributions under an open source license designated by the TC.

- Participants will set their own priorities for developing assets maintained in the Open Repository.

- Open Repositories will not be directly governed by the OASIS TC Process and IPR Policy. The Repositories will operate under a separate set of rules for contributions, management, licensing, and repository lifecycle.

We believe OASIS Open Repositories will become a valuable resource for TCs that want to foster productive relationships with open source communities, but right now, it's a work-in-progress. We welcome feedback and ideas that will help us improve and enhance the program.
