Subject: [mgmtprotocol] Transition of Management Protocol TC
All, After good discussion during our face-to-face this week in Cupertino, the MPTC decided that we need to change our focus. It has been almost a year since we decided to form the committee and a lot has changed since we have first met. As the scope of what we think we should be working on is substantially different from our additional charter and scope, it was agreed that it would be best to officially close the MPTC and start a new one. We have discussed this with Karl Best and he agreed that this would be the best course of action. Those participating in person and on the phone have agreed to put forward the following proposal. We have also decided to circulate this to other members of the MPTC so you could comment and add your names to the list of supporters if you choose. We will therefore have our regular call next Wednesday at 7am PST to discuss any additional input or to answer any last questions. We then plan to submit this proposal to OASIS for the creation of the new Tc by end of business Wednesday February 5th. Start up time for this new TC will take about 45 days from that date to allow time for process and official notification to all interested parties. We plan not to officially close the MPTC until the new TC is launched. See Below........
