OASIS Gears Up for XML 2003

OASIS members will be presenting the following five Interoperability
Demonstrations at XML 2003 in Philadelphia this year where a variety of
OASIS standards/specifications will be featured;

* Achieving Interoperability Using Test Frameworks
* OASIS UDDI Version 2 Specification
* OASIS WS-Reliability Specification
* Epidemic Management Using OASIS Standards and Specifications
* OASIS Web Services for Remote Portlets (WSRP) Specification

OASIS will also participate in 'The Future of Standards for Web Services and
Service Oriented Architectures' Town Hall meeting with the W3C on Thursday,
11 December at 7:00PM.

ebXML Business Process Specification Advances Within OASIS

Developers of the ebXML Business Process Specification Schema (BPSS) have
decided to advance their work under the OASIS technical process by forming
the OASIS ebXML Business Process (BP) Technical Committee. The OASIS ebXML
BP TC will further define the royalty-free ebXML BPSS model for binary and
multiparty business collaborations both within and between enterprises and
support the exchange of standards-based business process definitions.

New OASIS PR Group is Established

The Consortium has created a new OASIS Public Relations (PR) Group to
facilitate direct communication
between OASIS and the professionals responsible for press and analyst
relations for each of our member organizations. OASIS would like to
encourage the public relations contact for each member company to subscribe
to this list.

The OASIS PPS TC Is Being Formed

The OASIS Production Planning and Scheduling (PPS) TC has been proposes and
OASIS has issued a Call for Participation. The purpose of the OASIS PPS TC
is to develop common object models and corresponding XML schemas for
production planning and scheduling software. The OASIS PPS TC will conduct
its business in Japanese. The first meeting will take place on 18 December
in Tokyo.

Two OASIS TCs Receive Awards

OASIS is pleased to announce the recognition of work being down within
OASIS. CNET UK selects ebXML as finalist for the 'Most Promising Technology
of the Year of 2003' award and Digital ID World 2003 presented the SSTC with
the 'Technology Innovation' award for Security Assertion Markup Languages
(SAML).
