Special election for OASIS Board seat opens 

Robert E. Kaelin of MTG Management Consultants and Claus von Riegen of SAP
are candidates in the election to fill the OASIS Board of Directors seat
recently vacated by Eduardo Gutentag. All organizational members of OASIS
are encouraged to vote in this ballot, which closes 5 Apr.

Discussion list forms for Privacy Management Reference Model

A new mailing list for members and non-members will explore interest in
creating an OASIS Technical Committee to advance a Privacy Management
Reference Model (PMRM). The work is intended to serve as a template for
developing operational solutions to privacy issues, as an analytical tool
for assessing the completeness of proposed solutions, and as the basis for
establishing categories and groupings of privacy management controls.

Code List Representation public review begins 

Version 1.0 of the Context/Value Association using Genericode specification
provides an XML vocabulary using address expressions to specify hierarchical
document contexts and their associated constraints. This public review ends

WS-BPEL4People public review begins  

BPEL4People 1.1 introduces an extension to the Web services business process
model that addresses human interactions. WS-HumanTask 1.1 defines
properties, behavior, and operations used to manipulate human tasks. The
public review for these two specifications ends 24 Mar.

Service Component Architecture (SCA) public review begins  

Five specifications in the Service Component Architecture (SCA) family of
specifications are offered for public review:

-SCA POJO Component Implementation 1.1 provides an extension of the SCA
Assembly Model by defining how a Java class provides an implementation of an
SCA component. This public review ends 24 Mar.

-SCA-J Common Annotations and APIs 1.1 defines a Java syntax for programming
concepts defined in the SCA Assembly Model Specification. This public review

State of ODF Interoperability public review begins

This report discusses interoperability with respect to the OASIS
OpenDocument Format (ODF) and notes specific areas where users might focus
in order to improve interoperability among applications. The public review
ends 8 May.

Test Assertions Guidelines (TAG) public review begins

This document provides guidelines and best practices for writing test
assertions along with mandatory and optional components of a test assertion

ConnectivityWeek features OASIS Blue Connect event 

Hosted by the OASIS Blue Member Section, this two-day program will explore
"The Advancements of Secure Open Standards for Smart Energy Grids,
Intelligent Buildings, and Natural Resource Management." OASIS Blue Connect
will be held as part of ConnectivityWeek 2010 in Santa Clara, California on
Tuesday, 25 May, and Thursday, 27 May.

IDtrust Hosts "Web of Complexity" at e-Identity conference 

Held in London on 9-10 June, the program will focus on identity management's
shift to a "Web of Complexity" in which identity systems, authentication and
access controls, and assured privacy management must scale to higher levels
and meet stringent government regulations.

OASIS eGov establishes liaison with Kantara Working Group

The relationship aims to foster the aligned interests of both groups. The
OASIS eGov Member Section will serve as the first point of contact and
filter for works coming out of the Kantara eGov Working Group and visa
versa.

OASIS eGov announces election results

Mohammed Kammachi of the Belgium Ministry of Finance, Jerry Smith of the US
Department of Defense, Charles Schultz of Ars Aperta, and Gershon Janssen
have been elected to two-year terms on the OASIS eGov Member Section
Steering Committee. eGov thanks departing Steering Committee members, Giles
Hogben of ENISA, Arnaud Martens of the Belgian Ministry of Finance, and
Tanguy Swinnen of Deloitte Consulting for their service and contributions.
