The Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) 2.0 Channel Binding Extensions 1.0 enables requesters and responders to modify protocol behavior in a generic, layered fashion. SAML is an XML-based framework for communicating user authentication, entitlement, and attribute information. Congratulations to TC co-chairs, Thomas Hardjono of MIT and Nathan Klingenstein of Internet2, and to all TC members for accomplishing this milestone.

UBL 2.0 is the product of an international effort to define a royalty-free library of standard electronic XML business documents such as purchase orders and invoices. It is designed to plug directly into existing business, legal, auditing, and records management practices, eliminating the re-keying of data in existing fax- and paper-based supply chains and providing an entry point into electronic commerce for small and medium-sized businesses. The UBL 2.1 Abstract Syntax Notation 1 (ASN.1) Alternative Representation Committee Note supplements the UBL 2.1 XSD schema expressions with a suite of equivalent constraint expressions in ASN.1. The Unified Modeling Language (UML) Committee Note describes the UBL 2.1 common library and document models using UML.
