Subject: RE: [MOX] Proposed Charter for OASIS Semantic Mapping of XML (MOX) TC
I find it disturbing that the IPR mode is "RAND" instead of "RF on RAND." MOX promises improved support for web service composition (and mashups) and it would be weird to have implementations at this level be subject to IP licensing, inserting a toll booth into the WS stack. If the idea is to promote adoption and wide use of a WMSL-based scripting language, I would hope that Mitre Corporation (and anyone else) does not expect to extract licenses; that should be established at the outset. If that makes participation uninteresting, it would be good to sort that out now too. - Dennis Dennis E.
