Charter comment on the Proposed Charter for OASIS Business DocumentExchange (BusDox) TC

In response to the request for submission
of comments on the draft Charter document for the OASIS Business Document
Exchange (BusDox) TC, IBM submits the following comments: 

1)        On
page 1, the TC Charter should be amended to incorporate a clear statement,
directly stating or showing that the BusDox TC is established as a Technical
Committee within the framework of the Organisation for the Advancement
of Structured Information Standards (OASIS).  

2)        On
page 2, last paragraph, under the heading 'Contributions of existing work',
it is imperative that extra wording be incorporated to make it clear that
the PEPPOL specifications are to be contributed to the TC specifically
by the Danish National IT and Telecom Agency (NITA). (This is because NITA
is the copyright owner.) 

3)        In
its present form, the BusDox TC Charter seems to be a few months out of
date; it contains two types information or content: (i) formal Charter
text relating to the establishment of the BusDox TC, and (ii) a "timetable
of future events" and other ephemeral content  & information.


The initial set-up of the BusDox TC
is now complete, and IBM suggests that it would be appropriate for the
TC's Charter document to be updated or replaced, so that the two classes
of content mentioned above are separately published or displayed.
