Subject: Review of OASIS ASIS metadata
The WS-RX committee has an existing TC root for persistent and predictable URIs: http://docs.oasis-open.org/ws-rx/ This TC shortname and root was chosen and agreed with the agreement of OASIS staff. The TC has already published two Committee Drafts, as well as a number of artifacts including RDDL documents at this root. The TC is planning to run an interoperability workshop in March based on a set namespaces that uses this root extensively. The recommendation of the draft ASIS document would be to use a TC root of 'wsrx' instead of 'ws-rx'. The WS-RX TC made a motion on 23/Feb/2006 to petition the OASIS staff to change the ASIS document so that there is no requirement to remove hyphens from the TC shortname when used to create persistent URIs. (see http://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/ws-rx/email/archives/200602/msg00259.html). The motion was unanimously, and therefore I urge you to consider this request with all due seriousness. Further, the TC intends to continue using the ws-rx hyphen for now given the draft status of the ASIS document.
