Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] Commented: (ODATA-201) Allow specifying a list of acceptable media types for media entities and named resource properties

    [ http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/ODATA-201?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=32333#action_32333 ]

Ralf Handl commented on ODATA-201:
----------------------------------

Actually it is a first step towards a "Validation" set of terms, telling the clients which rules the server will apply, so they can reduce the number of 400 Bad Request responses.

We can treat "Validation" as part of "Core", part of "Capabilities", or something new.

> Media entities and named resource properties may in principle link to HTTP resources of any media type.
> Especially for update scenarios it is desirable to specify a list of acceptable media types for a media entity type or a named resource property.
