Hi,

I view the resolution as a clarification, not a new feature.  A further clarification on this issue is that it deals with allowed values.

 

For example, at 1948:

<p>A successful <code>PATCH</code> request to the edit URL for a complex typed property updates that property. The request body MUST contain a single valid representation for the target complex type.</p>

<p>A successful <code>PATCH</code> request to the edit URL for a complex typed property updates that property propertyâs value. The request body MUST contain a single valid representation for the declared type of the complex property or one of its derived types.</p>

ODATA-1472 was closed as part of V4.01_ERRATA01. But isn't it really a new feature, which

* belongs to V4.02

* must be mentioned in "Changes from Earlier Versions"

* should be annotated with a Capabilities annotation?
