Thanks for the notice Nathaniel. We really appreciate all
your help and leadership.
I would recommend that Rich and Peter move forward as
co-chairs. Between the two of them, the lionshare of the TC work has been led by
both. The only other considerations we might think about are the importance of
international chair and/or the importance of having someone with a disability as
chair. Neither are show stoppers for me.
- Mike
As most of you have surmised by now,
especially after my mental lapse over last week's meeting, I am simply too
overloaded at this point to continue as chair of this subcommittee. It has
been a pleasure getting to know you and to work with you in getting this effort
up and running. Our success so far gives me tremendous confidence in the
future potential of this group to drive advancement of the state of the art in
accessible office software.
I will
still be available to chair this week's meeting, where I suggest that topic #1
should be replacing me as chair. Peter Korn and Rich Schwerdfeder have
volunteered to serve as co-chairs, and I know they would do a fine job. If
anyone else wants to volunteer and turn this into an actual election, please do
so as soon as possible.
I
continue to believe strongly that the ODF initiative represents an opportunity,
not a threat, for software accessibility, and I know that this group will make
the most of the opportunity. -- Nathaniel
