Or, simply say that all ODF documents conform to the XML standard unless 
otherwise stated somewhere in the preceding material and *not* restate 
what XML 1.0 (4th ed. now?) already defines.

Do note, however, that we define whitespace rules for paragraphs and 
their child elements than XML 1.0. See 5.1.1, 5.1.1.1, 5.1.1.2.
