Hi,

probably a good heads-up to include the notion that character count is
implementation specific... (actually, I expect that most of the statistics
in 4.3.2.18 are implementation-specific)

If it is not implementation-specific, then it should be more clear what
characters are counted:
- does it include invisible alt text (set for accessibility purposes) ?
- does it include characters of the table of contents, index ?
- does it include auto-generated numbering etc
- does it include header / footers (only once ? or count every page ?)
- does it include text from comments/annotations ?
...
