Proposal for font embedding in ODF 1.3

Dear OASIS ODF TC

On the basis of the invitation in ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 34 N 1592,
I would like to submit the following feature request for ODF 1.3:

  Please provide a standardized mechanism for embedding fonts in
  ODF documents.

It is extremely important for archival purposes to be able to embed,
within a document that is prepared for archival purposes, all fonts
that are used in the document. Nota bene, under Swiss law at least,
making and storing the copies of fonts for such purposes is explicitly
allowed, so at least here in Switzerland, there is not any legal
problem with this, just a technical one.
