Subject: Re: [office-comment] About OpenDocument Format and units "at"/"atm"

Hi Julien,

Hello,

This url
http://docs.oasis-open.org/office/v1.2/os/OpenDocument-v1.2-os-part2.html#__RefHeading__1018496_715980110
indicates:
"atm" ("at") * Atmosphere
So "atm" is considered as the same as "at" for the formart.

However these units aren't identical.
Indeed, here are the equivalent values in Pascal:
"at" = technical atmosphere = 1.0197×10−5 Pa
"atm" = standard atmosphere = 9.8692×10−6 Pa

See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atmosphere_%28unit%29
http://physics.nist.gov/Pubs/SP811/appenB8.html

Would it be possible to amend the format? If yes, what's the process?
Whom should I contact?

Your comment will be discussed in the ODF TC. Please do not expect an answer before January, because of Christmas holidays. In most cases of comments, an issue is generated for the comment. So you might find discussion results in the bug tracking tool https://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/OFFICE too.

Writing to the office-comment list is an appropriate way to report problems with the specification.

I know your name from the LibreOffice project, so in your case you can contact a member of the ODF TC, who is involved in LibreOffice, in addition.

Kind regards
Regina
