Subject: Current undefined functions

Okay, here are the undefined functions left to do. Of the original list, only 8 are left. Again, please volunteer!

It's been askedif we want an Internet-access function (like wikiCalc has, e.g., something like NETWORKGET( Text URI; [; Time_between_retrievals] which would retrieve text from the given URI), and/or a SOAP interface function. I'm willing to entertain those if we can finish them quickly AND if we have a volunteer. The SOAP one I'm doubtful of, since I don't know of existing applications that implement it, but we DO have existing spreadsheets with HTTPGET-like access functions like wikiCalc. I should note that OpenDocument itself has the ability to manage access to external (network) data in other ways.

Here are the undefined functions to do that I know of;
> > HYPERLINK (note: weird semantics, we may not want it in the spec)
- I've asked Thomas Metcalf if he could tackle it, but don't know if he can; (Eike Rathke will do if no one else will)

> > CURRENT (tricky semantics)
- Eike Rathke

> > GETPIVOTDATA
- ??? Eike Rathke ("I think we (OOo Calc team) can provide some definition for that, hopefully by end of the month."). But that's not as hopeful...!

> > LOOKUP
- Stefan Nikolaus (he's been asked if he could, but he hasn't confirmed nor denied)

> > BAHTTEXT
- Qiang He. He proposes adding a NUMBERTEXT; Wheeler thinks we should do both, and asked Qiang He to do both unless the group quickly objects

> > ASC, STYLE, JIS
-Eike Rathke
> ("Which adds STYLE to this list. I have both on my TODO agenda. They may
> not sound that useful at first, but STYLE sometimes is used to have more
> fine grained control than a fixed number of Conditional Formats allow.
> Additionally the STYLE function has a timeout feature to switch to
> another style after a while. Useful with real time Add-Ins.")
Eike's also working on CODE, CHAR, and the new functions UNICODE and UNICHAR, which all relate to this.

Recently done: CONVERT, GROWTH, NETWORKDAYS, WORKDAY, FREQUENCY, CELL (CELL isn't in the posted draft yet)

Dropped or to be dropped: DATESTRING, RTD, HYPGEOMVERT
