Might be fine then, however, I would not like to impose such behavior on a spreadsheet application by defining a 3rd parameter for the HYPERLINK function. An application or browser plugin may still choose to open hyperlinks as _self targets if configured to do so, or let the user choose. Eike -- Automatic string conversions considered dangerous.
