The purpose of the SUBTOTAL function is to treat hidden rows differently otherwise the primary function (Sum, Average, etc.) could be used instead.  For this reason, explicit values don't make sense as a parameter.

Gnumeric also implements SUBTOTAL and ignores neither rows hdden by an
autofilter nor manually hidden rows.
