Subject: RE: [office-formula] office-2227: Proposed Resolution

I've merged my proposed changes with Eike's from Office-1075. I've inserted a math formula object using Eike's formula from Office-1075 (XNPV = sum from{i=1} to{N} {{Values_i} over { left( 1 + Rate right) ^ {{Dates_i - Dates_1} over 365}}}), but the minus sign between Dates_i and Dates_1 doesn't seem to appear in the math formula object.

Thanks. Please see also
http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/OFFICE-1075
for additional changes. I added that to the Proposal field.

It isn't quite clear to me what the wording "optional" in

| The first cash-flow amount is optional and corresponds to a cost or
| payment that occurs at the beginning of the investment, represented by
| a negative number.

would imply. To my understanding the first amount can't be optional but must be present, it is an element of an Array (note: not NumberSequence, see OFFICE-1075) argument. It think optional here means that the value does not necessarily have to be negative. If yes, shouldn't that be worded different?

Btw, for mathematical formulas please use a math formula object instead of an image, and in the formula use variable names corresponding to the parameter names.

Thanks
  Eike
