Subject: Formula Processing Model
Greetings! Since we had such disagreement about this chapter on the last call I wanted to run some preliminary language by the group. Rather than the current title: Formula Processing Model, I would suggest: "Expression Semantics, Recalculation and Formula Limits" (assuming limits on formulas stay here) Reasoning that what we really are specifying are the semantics of expressions, things like evaluating left to right, but that we don't want to imply a particular processing model. So, the lead in paragraph under General: "OpenFormula defines the semantics of expressions, when recalcalculation occurs, and limits on formulas. It does not specify any particular process for evaluations consistent with those definitions." What I am trying to capture is that so long as the semantics are honored/followed/whatever, how that happens is really beyond our ken. Hope everyone is having a great week!
