Subject: Dr. John Madden Requests Membership in OpenDocument - Metadata
Dr. John Madden of Duke University*, john.madden@duke.edu, wishes to join OpenDocument - Metadata. Please visit http://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/office-metadata/manage/pending_request.php to authorize or deny this request and to see all of your other pending requests to join this group. Dr. John Madden will not be able to participate or be visible in the Technical Committee until the approval is processed. This request is not publicly visible, nor is your disapproval, if you so choose. Dr. John Madden entered the following optional information in support of his/her request to join OpenDocument - Metadata : ************************* I'm a physician (pathologist) on the faculty of Duke U Med Center. I'm on the Editorial Board on SNOMED International (medical vocabulary), member of the W3C Healthcare & Life Sciences SIG/Ontology TaskForce, and board of the Healthcare Information Technology Standards Panel (HITSP). My interest is in document representation for the electronic health record, and in metadata embedding strategies that would support "intelligent" retrieval, documents-as-services, content re-use, etc. I'm very interested in keeping the embedding strategy and the semantics nicely orthogonal and fully uncoupled. I'd like it best if the strategy supported the existence of documents as queryable web objects (recognizing that OpenDocument != XHTML !!!!) ************************* If you have any questions with this process, please contact member-services@oasis-open.org Thank you for your prompt attention this request and for your participation in OASIS.
