The current spec says that list indent is based on the paragraph indent rules.
You invent a new set, and a property to switch between those two sets.

So, by your own account, we should not have properties to alter the indent at 
the list level, since we already can do that at the paragraph level.

You are aware that those two points conflict with each other, right?
Specifically, the first point states you need something separate from the 
parag, and the second states that you can't have an extra option since you 
already have it at the parag level...
