Subject: [office] OpenDocument TC coordination call draft minutes 2008-01-21
* Rollcall Mingfei Jia, IBM Robert Weir, IBM Panrong Yin, IBM Helen Yue, IBM Patrick Durusau David Wheeler David Faure, KDE e.V. Bob Jolliffe, South Africa Dept. of Science & Technology Michael Brauer, Sun Microsystems Eike Rathke, Sun Microsystems Oliver-Rainer Wittmann, Sun Microsystems * Minutes from 2008-01-14 coordination call: http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/office/200801/msg00012.html The attending TC members unanimously accepted the minutes. * Action Items - (Not completed) Work continues on defining the default values. Ma Yue is working on collecting values from Lotus Symphony. Michael Brauer will post an updated OpenOffice.org default value set. - (Not completed) Oliver is working on text field proposal and hopes to have something we can vote on next week. - (Not Completed): Michael: Proposal for unique automatic style names * Proposals, as listed at http://wiki.oasis-open.org/office/OpenDocument_v1.2_Action_Items#head-d117ebdb1531adf3aa1dbb5fb619a2298f88ac0e - citation field and data templating: These two proposals are covered by the Metadata proposal already and can be removed from the list. - Points are integers in ODF, but floating-point in SVG: The ODF schema currently allows only integer values, while SVG allows floats. The point data type currently is described by a regular expression. Extending the regular to support floats would result in very long and unreadable expressions. The question (and open action item) is to find an alternative way to describe the data type, for instance an EBNF grammar. This may apply to other data types as well. This action item shall be divided into two, one for the specific points data type, and one for the more general question how to avoid unreadable regular expressions. - Defaults values: ongoing (see action items) - text input field: ongoing (see action items) - Transition Duration: discussions are ongoing - source tables for charts: The OOo team volunteers to prepare a proposal for this that Michael will forward to the TC. - renaming of draw:stroke-linecap: This proposal was unanimously accepted by the TC - Chart legend orientations: discussions are ongoing - Automatic style naming: ongoing (see action items). * Accessibility Guidelines The ODF Accessibility Guidelines 1.0 http://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/office-accessibility/download.php/25664/ODF_Accessibility_Guidelines_v1.0-candidate.odt completed its public review on December 21 and no comments were received. The attending TC members unanimously agreed a motion to hold a vote to approve the Accessibility Guidelines as a Committee Specification. * Other items - Bullet lists with constant strings, as listed under http://wiki.oasis-open.org/office/OpenDocument_v1.2_Action_Items#head-bff8b4549bf71848d371a76eb7e3dc31f972d952 David Faure and Oliver Wittmann will work on a proposal for this * New action items: - Michael: Divide "Points are integers in ODF" item into two items - Michael: Proposal source tables in charts - David Faure, Oliver: Proposal for bullet lists with constant strings -- Michael Brauer, Technical Architect Software Engineering StarOffice/OpenOffice.org Sun Microsystems GmbH Nagelsweg 55 D-20097 Hamburg, Germany michael.brauer@sun.com http://sun.com/staroffice +49 40 23646 500 http://blogs.sun.com/GullFOSS Sitz der Gesellschaft: Sun Microsystems GmbH, Sonnenallee 1, D-85551 Kirchheim-Heimstetten Amtsgericht Muenchen: HRB 161028 Geschaeftsfuehrer: Thomas Schroeder, Wolfgang Engels, Dr. Roland Boemer Vorsitzender des Aufsichtsrates: Martin Haering
