Subject: Groups - Formula_Conformance_20090111 (Formula_Conformance_20090111.odt) uploaded

Greetings!

I have created some notes on conformance issues for chapters 2-5 of the
latest version of the formula draft. Do note that I have not attempted to
systematically call out other issues, although I have made a few notes on
other issues.

A word of encouragement. By the time I finished the comments on the first
part of a standard that I attempted to help draft I was wondering if I knew
how to spell my own name correctly. ;-) Most of the problems here can be
corrected by putting the intended content into standards "speak," which is
a highly stylized language with its own requirements. It will not be easy
but I am confident based on the current draft that it can be polished into
a very strong standard.

In terms of process, I think we need to:

1) Agree on scope, what are we constraining?

2) Reform clauses to be precise without conformance language as much as
possible.

3) Conformance clauses come last.

Comments/suggestions?

Hope everyone is having a great day!

Patrick

PS: I have time for separate calls with the formula subcommittee if that
would be helpful.
