In graphic applications, additional drawing page attributes may be assigned to a drawing page using the draw:style-name attribute. This attribute is optional. The fixed family for page styles is drawing-page. This is used to define an optional background filling.

Note the contradiction between "additional drawing page attributes may be assigned" and the conclusion, "This is used to define an optional background filling."

And that for shape elements we say: "The formatting properties of the specified style and its parent styles are used to format the shape." but that should be true for all styles and not just this one case. Not to mention that needs to be said once, elsewhere for styles.
