Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] Commented: (OFFICE-1641) Editor Note: Section17.278 form:focus-on-click

    [ http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/OFFICE-1641?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=11493#action_11493 ]

Andreas Guelzow commented on OFFICE-1641:
------------------------------------------

Suppose I write an implementation and in the process of implementing the form:focus-on-click attribute I create teh following effect:

Assume element x has "keyboard focus".
The user clicks on a form button control belonging to the <form:button> element y that has form:focus-on-click attribute true.
On the button-down the implementation assigns keyboard focus to element y.
On the button-up the implementation ssigns keyboard focus back to element x.

As far as I can tell the implementation has satisfied implementing the form:focus-on-click attribute, since the element y has focus when the control is clicked with a mouse.

Of course the implemented change in focus is really completely meaningless influencing only the case of keyboard input during a mopuse button click. So there does not seem to be any point in the form:focus-on-click attribute.

[I haven't mentioned the separate issue that referring to "is clicked with a mouse" refers to a specific type of input device and should in cany case probably be " is activated".

> Ed. Note I missed this under the camera attributes but we use "focus" to mean different things and never define the term in either case. I am not a fan of the definition section practice, which is in fact not required but do think we need to define these terms in context when they are to be used.
