Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] Created: (OFFICE-2043) margin attributes

margin attributes
-----------------

                 Key: OFFICE-2043
                 URL: http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/OFFICE-2043
Project: OASIS Open Document Format for Office Applications (OpenDocument) TC
          Issue Type: Bug
          Components: Text
    Affects Versions: ODF 1.2
            Reporter: Michael Brauer
            Assignee: Patrick Durusau
            Priority: Minor
             Fix For: ODF 1.2

This is issue is regarding ODF 1.2 part 1 cd03

19.197 fo:margin-bottom
19.198 fo:margin-left
19.199 fo:margin-right
19.200 fo:margin-top

1. All four descriptions contain a paragraph like:

----
If this attribute is contained in a common style, its value may be a percentage that refers to the corresponding margin of a parent style.
----

as well ass

----
Percentage values are not supported for:
<style:header-footer-properties>
<style:page-layout-properties>
----

Because percentage values are supported for paragraph styles only, the first paragraph should be changed to:
---
If this attribute is contained in a <text:paragraph-properties> element, its value may be a percentage that refers to the corresponding margin of a parent style.
----
The list of elements that does not support a percentage value can be removed.

2. For fo:margin-top and fo:margin-bottom, the following restriction may be removed:
----
If this attribute is missing and the fo:margin-top is used, the value of this attribute is assumed to be 0cm.
---

3. For fo-margin-left, the following should be removed, because it refers to the same named attribute in chapter 18:
---
This attribute is ignored if a paragraph inside a list item already has this attribute.
The fo:text-indent and fo:margin-left attributes specify the indent and margin for text lines of a list item, but also the alignment position for its list label. The value fo:margin-left + fo:text-indent specifies the indent of the first text line of a list item. This position is also the alignment position for its list label, because the value of text:min-label-width is treated as 0.
