Regarding <text:note>. We have a definition of what is the character content of a paragraph and what is not in 5.1.1. Maybe we should add a reference to that section.

Regarding <text:a>: The better term than content may be anchor. What about:

The character content of the element and its descendant elements which constitutes to the character content of the paragraph in which the hyperlink is embedded, define the the anchor of the hyperlink.
