       Proposal: 
1. Change the xmlns declarations in this RNG schema to not use "xml" in the prefix names.  

2. "odf" would be a better choice, as in "odfdsig", because this is a specific profiling of the XML DSIG specification (ignoring the degree to which the profiling might be underspecified or not).

1. Arrange to have cd's and other levels of these specifications locate their authoritative, plaintext code files (.rng, .owl, etc.) in the proper locations with correct locations.

2. Embed the referenced content in the respective Appendices so that the material can always be found in conjunction with the relevant document.  Provide authoritative references to the separately-stored plaintext forms, with appropriate caveates in the appendices.  

3. Provide bibliographic reference entities for the normative references so there is enough identification for someone being able to find the authoritative source when the URL doesn't work (as for any other on-line normative source).

The use of a namespace prefix beginning with the letters "xml" is in violation of the XML and XML Namespace specifications.  

Internet Explorer 8 points out the problem with this report:

"Cannot view XML input using XSL style sheet. Please correct the error and then click the Refresh button, or try again later.

The URL for the Digital Signature Schema in Appendix A, <http://docs.oasis-open.org/office/v1.2/part3-cd01/OpenDocument-dsig-schema-v1.2-cd1.rng>  does not resolve to a file.  An HTTP 404, Not Found, error is produced with the following explanation

"Not Found

"The requested URL /office/v1.2/part3-cd01/OpenDocument-dsig-schema-v1.2-cd1.rng was not found on this server.

"Please try browsing from the top of the office files. "

The correct URL is apparently <http://docs.oasis-open.org/office/v1.2/part3/cd01/OpenDocument-dsig-schema-v1.2-cd1.rng>.

This issue is a companion to that in OFFICE-2230.
