Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] Commented: (OFFICE-2029) (needs discussion)5.10.21 WEEKNUM - not well defined

    [ http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/OFFICE-2029?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=18791#action_18791 ]

Dennis Hamilton commented on OFFICE-2029:
-----------------------------------------

Andreas, I am looking at the ISO/IEC 29500-1:2008 OOXML Standard which is a result of the Ballot Resolution after balloting of the original 2007 ECMA specification. You should get the December 2008 ECMA-376 second edition for OOXML, <http://www.ecma-international.org/publications/standards/Ecma-376.htm>.

You can also get the ISO/IEC version as a free download. It is the one to which maintenance is being done and there are Corrigenda already corrigenda and an ammendment coming out. The IS 29500:2008 documents are avaiable at <http://standards.iso.org/ittf/PubliclyAvailableStandards/index.html>. The list of 29500 downloads is about 14 entries below the one for IS 26300:2006 (might as well grab that one too for the record).

> Originally issue was opened to cover missing results in test cases, but the description of Weeknum says:
> "Summary: Determines the conventional non-ISO week number of the year for a given date." and "Note that this is not the ISO week number." but does not say what conventional is or what Not ISO means.
> Draft25 says:
> Returns the number of the week in the year for the given date. Note that this is not the ISO week number. If Type is 1, Sunday is the first day of the week; if 2, Monday is the first day of the week.
