Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] Commented: (OFFICE-2957) 19.151draw:extrusion-allowed - "...is capable to be..." - "...can be..."

    [ http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/OFFICE-2957?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=19565#action_19565 ]

Dennis Hamilton commented on OFFICE-2957:
-----------------------------------------

I am baffled what it means to have an attribute that controls whether or not an extrusion *can* be produced. In the static document, it is either extruded (whether shown or not) or not. If there are shape characteristics that prevent extrusion, shouldn't we be told what those characteristics are? What does it mean for this to be a setting, and who must honor it, how is it over-ridden, etc?

This is an area that has defect reports in ODF 1.0/IS 26300. We need to watch to see how we deal with these consistently.

> 19.151 draw:extrusion-allowed - "...is capable to be..." - "...can be..."
> Now reads: "The draw:extrusion-allowed attribute specifies whether a shape is capable to be rendered as extrusion object."
> Seems odd to speak of the capacities of a shape.
> Suggest: "The draw:extrusion-allowed attribute specifies whether a shape can be rendered as extrusion object."
