errrr, but metadata can not only be attached to elements via the xhtml:* attributes,
 it can also be attached to elements via their xml:id (i.e. "the mechanism defined in Part 3 of this specification").

and the list of elements that have xml:id is much longer than the list of elements that have xhtml:* attributes.
so a sentence like "Elements supporting RDF metadata have the attributes: xhtml:about ..." is misleading

i prefer the current text over your proposal.
