But this is a form and therefore subject to chapter 13 Form Content, which notes under 13.1,
"Forms can be data-aware. A form is data-aware if the values subject to its controls are populated from and updated to a database."
And recall from 7.6.1 (Database Fields, General) we read:
"From the point of view of embedding database information in OpenDocument text documents, queries and tables are considered the same. Therefore for the remainder of this section, the phrase database table refers to both database tables and database queries."
I mention the second one (the new RDF metadata is relevant too) to make the point that ODF documents are not author and leave documents. Rather they can, assuming the correct consumer, be dynamic "documents" that are updated from a variety of data sources. I put "documents" in quotes because it isn't from start of file to EOF that defines it extent or content. True the calls are there but the data may well not exist when the document is loaded but is created and delivered when the document calls for it.
ODF documents as information hubs as well as supporting the more traditional notion of documents should be more evident in ODF-Next.
