If we would want to discuss GROWTH with respect to ODF1.2 there is an additional issue with this function:

The description indicates that it performs an "exponential least squares fit". Neither OOo nor Gnumeric Does that. (I don't think Excel does it either.) The former appear to linearize an exponential regression equation for the data and then perform a (least squares) linear regression. Usually that yields results that are not the least square fit to an exponential function.

If this function were supposed to do what the function of the same name apparently does in OOo, one could refer to LOGEST as TREND refers to LINEST.
