Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] Commented: (OFFICE-1827) ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 34N 1078 : DEFECT REPORT NUMBER JP2-36

    [ http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/OFFICE-1827?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=23445#action_23445 ]

Dennis Hamilton commented on OFFICE-1827:
-----------------------------------------

Errata 02 - ODF 1.2 Reconciliation:
The separate section on Tick Marks does not occur in ODF 1.2.
In addition, the ODF 1.2 descriptions of the individual tich-mark attributes (sections 20.59 chart:tick-marks-major-inner to 20.62 chart:tick-marks-minor-outer all refer to chart-interval-major but there is reference to chart:interval-minor-divisor in 20.61 and 20.62 rather than the chart:interval-minor mentioned introduced in Errata 02.

   *    *    *    *

The problem is that the ODF 1.0 and IS 26300 texts describe chart:interval-minor-divisor, but the schemas define attribute chart:interval-minor. In ODF 1.0 Errata 01, the text was modified to replace mentions of chart:interval-minor-divisor with chart:interval-minor, aligning with what the schema provides.
In ODF 1.2, the chart:interval-minor-divisor is retained and the schema defines chart:interval-minor-divisor, not chart:interval-minor.
In ODF 1.1, the schema and the text use chart:interval-minor-divisor throughout and the use of chart:interval-minor in the schema is reported as an error that was corrected in the production of ODF 1.1 from ODF 1.0.

So what we have are incompatible changes between Errata 01+02 and ODF 1.1+1.2. Presumably we now also have the incompatible changes perpetuated in IS 26300 by virtue of COR1 and the soon-to-be-perpetuated COR2. All of these preserve chart:interval-minor as the schema value.

ON PRINCIPLE, it is clear that the consistent use of chart:interval-minor-divisor is the correct approach, based on the definition of the attribute and its relationship to chart:interval-major.

RECOMMENDATION: There is nothing that is needed in ODF 1.2

When we create Errata 01 for ODF 1.1, we should not apply the Errata 01 changes for ODF 1.0 15.31.3 that change chart:interval-minor-divisor to chart:interval-minor. We should not apply the change of Errata 02 that changes chart:axis-interval-minor to chart:interval-minor and instead just make sure that any chart:axis-interval-minor is changed to chart-interval-minor-divisor.

Finally, when the IS 26300/AMD is created for alignment with ODF 1.1, we will need to change all chart:interval-minor to chart:interval-minor-divisor in the text and in the relevant schema fragment.

> QUALIFIER error
> REFERENCES IN DOCUMENT Clause 15.31.4
> NATURE OF DEFECT Two attribute names in 15.31.4 are incorrect. The schema has
> attribute chart:interval-major { double }?,
> attribute chart:interval-minor { positiveInteger }?
> while the prose mentions the chart:axis-interval-major attribute and the chart:axis-interval-minor attribute.
