Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] Commented: (OFFICE-3810) ODF 1.1 Section 15.5.20 grammar correction
[ http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/OFFICE-3810?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=31783#action_31783 ] Andreas Guelzow commented on OFFICE-3810: ------------------------------------------ These attributes do not have to occur in pairs. So I ma not sure that conditioning the sentence on them being contained in a common style is quite correct. I think we mean: "If one of these attributes is contained in a common style, its value may be a percentage." I have no idea what the following means: "For some applications. these two properties must be used simultaneously." How can that 'must' be normative in any sense without more specific definition of 'some applications'. > ODF 1.1 Section 15.5.20 grammar correction > ------------------------------------------ > > Key: OFFICE-3810 > URL: http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/OFFICE-3810 > Project: OASIS Open Document Format for Office Applications (OpenDocument) TC > Issue Type: Bug > Affects Versions: ODF 1.1 > Reporter: Dennis Hamilton > Assignee: Dennis Hamilton > Priority: Minor > Fix For: ODF 1.1 Errata 01 > > > In ODF 1.1 Section 15.5.20 the first paragraph speaks of a class of attributes, but mixes singular with group plural. > The repair (which should help translators some) is to change the first-paragraph phrase "If the attribute is contained ..." to "If the attributes are ..." > This defect was defected during the review/reconciliation of IS 26300:2006/Amd1. The repair is already included in AMD1. > The correction in the proposal is implemented in ODF 1.1 Errata 01 WD 04. -- This message is automatically generated by JIRA. - If you think it was sent incorrectly contact one of the administrators: http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/secure/Administrators.jspa - For more information on JIRA, see: http://www.atlassian.com/software/jira
